Appeal following armed robbery at petrol station

Shortly after 1:30am yesterday morning (30 May), officers were called to the BP petrol station in Meadowhead following reports of an armed robbery.

It’s alleged that the suspect threatened the manager with a firearm before stealing £100 from the till. He then ran from the petrol station across the cricket pitch towards Lowedges. A customer from the garage briefly chased the suspect in his car but lost sight of him shortly after.

The offender is described as being white, tall, wearing all black, trainers and a balaclava.

Officers are looking to speak to anyone who may have seen the suspect before or after the incident took place. Were you in the area? Did you see anything suspicious?

If you can help, please call 101 quoting incident number 50 of 30 May.
