Baby killed in Darnall collision formally named

A one-year-old boy who sadly died following a collision in the Darnall area of Sheffield has today been formally named as Mohammed Osman Mustafa Bin Adnan.

Mohammed (pictured top right) was taken to hospital following the collision on Friday evening (9 November) but died later that evening.

His father, Adnan Ashraf, 35, also died following the collision, which occurred on Main Road just after 8.50pm. Mr Ashraf’s wife and Mohammed’s mother, 32-year-old Erika Kroscenova, was injured during the incident and remains in hospital in a stable condition.

The collision occurred between two vehicles, a black VW Golf and a black VW Touran. Prior to the collision, the VW Golf was involved in a pursuit with a police vehicle. A mandatory referral was made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct following the collision. South Yorkshire Police continue to assist them with their independent investigation.
Mohammed’s family have asked that their privacy continues to be respected at this incredibly difficult time.

Husband and wife Vlasta Dunova, 41, and Miroslav Duna, 50, were also pronounced dead at the scene. Their 22-year-old daughter, Nikola Dunova, was injured and remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition. Her three-year-old daughter, Livia Matova remains in a critical condition.

Two men appeared before Sheffield Magistrate’s Court today (Monday 12 November), charged in connection to the collision.

Elliott Bower, 18, of Harborough Avenue, the driver of the vehicle involved in the collision, has been charged with four counts of causing death by dangerous driving and three counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He is also charged with handling stolen goods and possession of cannabis.

Declan Bower, 23, of Harborough Avenue, has been charged with aggravated vehicle taking and death caused by an accident with aggravated factors. He is also charged with handling stolen goods, two counts of driving while disqualified, two counts of driving without insurance, possession of a bladed article and possession of cannabis.

They have been remanded into custody following their appearance to appear before Sheffield Crown Court on Monday 10 December.
