YOU don’t have to travel to the great arenas to see the legends of rock and pop when you can spot them more comfortably at Sheffield arts and theatre venue The Montgomery…almost!
The Surrey Street theatre in Sheffield city centre is finding new audiences with a string of tribute shows that are proving extremely popular.
Following a recent appearance by The George Michael Story, The Montgomery will see Jersey Boys act The Jerseys take to the stage on April 4 and Queen of Rock Live on May 10.
That will be followed by Meatloaf tribute All Revved Up on June 8 and a return visit by the George Michael Story on June 15.
“We’re delighted that we have so many tribute bands coming in as they really do introduce The Montgomery to a new audience,” said the venue’s Marketing and Programming Manager Rachel Jack.
“It’s a wonderful way to demonstrate the versatility of this great building which is so much part of the fabric of Sheffield city centre.
“And staying with the musical theme, another great event to look forward to is Rock 4 a Reason, an evening of great music, presented and promoted by Motion Five, which we are hosting on May 11 and which will be supporting a range of charities, including Sheffield Children’s Hospital, Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Cathedral Archer Project.”
