Caitlin’s hat trick helps lead to a 5-0 Westbourne hockey victory

A hat trick from Caitlin Sullivan helped lead the Westbourne School U16s girls’ hockey team to a 5-0 victory over Sheffield High School.

Westbourne made a winning start to the match with Caitlin scoring the first goal within minutes of the first push back.

Sheffield Girls threw everything at Westbourne, but Westbourne’s defence stood firm, and protected their goal confidently.

The second goal scored came not long after and saw Westbourne leading at half time.

The third goal came not long after the second half started, scored by Westbourne captain Josephine Paul.

The Westbourne girls then focused on implementing their channeling skills as well as applying pressure to the opposition down the wing along with outwitting skills.

The fourth goal was attained by Emily Durkin and not long before the final whistle Caitlin Sullivan scored a hat trick with a final goal and was named Player of the Day.
