Sheffield Theatres today announces the full cast joining the previously announced Tom Bateman (Da Vinci’s Demons) for its production of Coriolanus, in the Crucible from Friday 6 – Saturday 28 March.
Celebrated super soldier Coriolanus is propelled to power, only to lose the trust of the people. Torn down from his pedestal, banished at the height of his fury, he unites with an old enemy to bring down the city he once fought for.
Following his critically acclaimed Julius Caesar, Artistic Director Robert Hastie (Guys and Dolls, Standing at the Sky’s Edge) directs: Tom Bateman (Da Vinci’s Demons) as Coriolanus, Hermon Berhane (Scream Queens) as Virgilia, Mudassar Dar (Coronation Street) as Citizen, Stella Gonet (House of Eliott) as Volumnia, Esther McAuley (Call the Midwife) as Valeria, Remmie Milner (Trollied) as Sicinius, Theo Ogundipe (Top Boy) as Aufidius, Louis J Rhone (Small Axe) as Citizen, Eddie-Joe Robinson (Emmerdale) as Cotus, Kate Rutter (His Dark Materials) as Citizen, Malcolm Sinclair (Pie in the Sky) as Menenius, Katy Stephens (London’s Burning) as Cominius, Ben Wiggins (The Witcher) as Titus Lartius and Alex Young (Guys and Dolls, Sheffield Crucible) as Brutus. The cast is completed by members of Sheffield People’s Theatre, Sheffield Theatres’ intergenerational theatre company.
