CCTV released after armed robbery in Sheffield

Police would like to identify two men following an alleged armed robbery in Sheffield.

At around 8pm on Monday 1 April, a man was reportedly threatened and robbed by two men, one of whom he believed to be holding a knife concealed in a plastic bag, on Wordsworth Drive.

The two men are reported to have stolen the man’s phone and then searched his car, which was parked nearby. From the car, the pair allegedly took the victim’s work van keys.

At around 10pm the same evening, the work van was stolen from the victim’s home address. The van was later located on Palgrave Crescent, and when officers attended a group of around four or five men were reportedly seen stripping the van of tools before fleeing.

Two men, aged 18 and 30 from Sheffield, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of handling stolen goods.

Enquiries are continuing and officers are now releasing CCTV images of two men they’d like to speak to in connection with the incident.
