Officers are appealing for witnesses to a two-car collision in the Longley area of Sheffield.
At around 6.45pm on Friday 28 September, it is reported that a grey Vauxhall Corsa was travelling away from the city centre along Everingham Road, when it was in collision with a red Citroen Berlingo at the junction with Herries Avenue.
It is reported that the Berlingo was travelling toward Eccelsfield at the time of the collision.
A 73-year-old woman driving the Corsa suffered a thumb injury and the driver of the Berlingo, a 38-year-old man, suffered a minor chest injury.
At around 12.05am on Monday 1 October, the 73-year-old woman was taken to hospital after she was found collapsed at her home address.
She remains in hospital in a critical condition.
An investigation into the collision remains on going and anyone who saw what happened or was in the area at the time is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 738 of 28 September 2018.
