Dog and Partridge Inn

As a disabled person I don’t like the busy carvery pubs so opted for a country pub for my Sunday lunch. The scenery on the way there was stunning and some of the views from the small beer garden were breathtaking, there were ample disabled parking, 2 spaces at the front and 3 spaces at the rear so had no trouble parking.

The pub was friendly and warm with a big open fire, clean and adequately decorated, there were quite a few accessible tables where I could get in with my wheelchair and after all selecting the Sunday roast from the menu (£12.50 pp) we weren’t waiting long before our meals arrived.

My mouth watered at the plate of roast lamb and Yorkshire pudding with seasonal vegetables served in separate dishes with all condiments, sauces and gravy. They were certainly not stingy with the portions especially the meat but to be honest it was all quite tasteless, it all just tasted of nothing which was surprising as it all looked delicious.

As I needed to use the toilet my partner asked a waiter where the disabled toilet was to get the reply “I don’t know” after checking with another member of staff we were told there was no disabled toilet. We had to leave at that point as I needed the toilet but it would have been nice to sit and have a coffee after lunch. My partner assures me the other toilets were clean and serviceable.
