Two of the city’s most popular musicians are set to celebrate a songwriting partnership that is currently a box office sensation.
John Reilly and Lewis Nitikman are performing at Leopold Square’s Cubana on Monday, June 24th, in honour of the music of Sir Elton John and Bernie Taupin.
‘Rocketman’ – the film which tells the story of the writing partnership which culminated in some of the world’s most popular songs – is currently receiving rave reviews.
The careers of John Reilly – voice of Boy On A Dolphin – and his Canadian keyboard player/writing partner Lewis Nitikman, have been strongly influenced by Elton John. This is one of a series of shows they are doing to pay homage to the legacy of the star.
Tickets are now on sale for the special dinner and concert evening.
Tunes being performed include ‘Your Song’, ‘Daniel’, ‘Candle In The Wind’ and many others.
The Elton John event starts at 7pm and includes full tapas set menu. Tickets are just £35 each. Bookings can be made on 0114 276 0475.
Adrian Bagnoli, Cubana co-owner, said: “John Reilly and Lewis Nitikman are set to pay homage to one of the world’s most enduring stars in their own inimitable ways. This is no tribute show – this is a true celebration of these wonderful, timeless tunes.”
