Footloose singers belt out some hairbrush classics!

WHAT’S a girl going to do when she’s ready to belt out some great pop standards and there isn’t a microphone handy? Pick up a hairbrush of course!

Georgina Willows, Lillie Connelly, Amy Mcgregor and Ellie Needham are all appearing in Woodseats Musical Theatre Company’s forthcoming production of Footloose, the stage musical version of the cult 1980s movie.

And with rehearsals now under way, the quartet are happy to make do with the traditional low-tech approach to practicing thir numbers until they are wired for sound on opening night.

Footloose is the story of a city boy who comes to a country village and through the power of music and dance helps to heal the scars of a community’s shared tragedy.

As well as the show’s chart topping title song, the show also features such 1980s hits as Let’s Hear It for the Boy and Bonnie Tyler standard Holding Out for a Hero.

Footloose: The Musical runs at the Montgomery Theatre in Sheffield from July 10 to 13. Tickets on 0114 2644803 or 078554 23670.
