Four leading ladies share the honours as Shrek comes to Sheffield

HOW many actresses does it take to create one pretty fairytale princess with a very special secret?

Hit show Shrek the Musical is coming to Sheffield’s Lyceum in a regional amateur premier from STOS Theatre Company.

It’s the stage sensation adapted from the smash hit Hollywood movie animated comedy favourite, a crazy re-boot of some familiar fairy tales with a cool contemporary twist.

And to bring the story to life on stage, it takes four different leading ladies to play heroine Princess Fiona.

Sharing the honours in the STOS production are Maya Gupta and Lucy Rowe, who share the part of young Fiona, with Alice MacKenzie taking over as teen Fiona and Sara Hibberd playing the adult princess.

With a budget set at an estimated £110,000 , Shrek The Musical is set to be one of the year’s most expensive and extravagant shows, with special effects include a fully functioning dragon.

Shrek is at the Lyceum from November 12 to 16. For tickets call 0114 249 6000 or visit sheffieldtheatres.co.uk
