FOUR young stars of the future will be stepping into the spotlight as they share two of the most famous roles in musical history at Sheffield’s Lyceum.

Gypsy, the classic Broadway and movie musical based on the extraordinary life of legendary First lady of Burlesque Gypsy Rose Lee, is the latest production from Sheffield’s STOs Theatre Company and runs at the Lyceum from November 13 to 17.

The roles of the girl who became Gypsy and her precocious sister June are played as adults by Lauren Lomas and Katie Mather.

But in the earliest scenes of the show, when the characters are still young children touring America’s tough Vaudeville circuit in the 1920s, the parts will be shared by Evie Wright, Phoebe Bell, Tillie Copley and Eve Wibberley.

“We are delighted to have been able to give these four talented young actors their chance to shine,” said director Mark Harris.

“Gypsy is a great story of young talent and we needed some very special talent to bring it to life.

“With these four young stars of the future, along with Lauren and Katie in the adult roles, we think we have fund just that!”
