Colleagues at Co-op’s John Fairest Funeralcare in Sheffield recently took a trip to the seaside for a day out with some of the families and individuals they’ve supported throughout the year.
The Abbey Lane branch of Co-op Funeralcare took a group of 51 people on a coach trip to Scarborough on Monday 29th July for a fun filled day out by the sea.
Both Co-op Funeralcare and Co-op Food in the area had raised £650 for the trip since the start of the year. The funds came from a donation from the Co-op Food store managers, a contribution from Batemoor and Jordanthorpe Residents Association, a jumble sale at the local sports club and a raffle over the Easter period.
The team supplied goody bags for everyone on the trip and Sheffield based charity, St Luke’s Hospice, supplied badges and leaflets.
Tracey Wilson, Funeral Arranger at Co-op’s John Fairest Funeralcare, comments: “We’re passionate about getting involved with our local community and are always happy to take the time to support those who need us throughout the bereavement process.
‘’Losing a loved one can be an incredibly difficult time and we know how important it is that we have a support network for people to come together. We had a lovely trip to Scarborough, with feedback showing everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves!”
With over 1,000 funeral homes across the UK, the Co-op Funeralcare colleagues are passionate about delivering a sensitive, caring and professional service for families within their community.
