Grease is the Word!

Brand new for Summer 2018, The Montgomery’s inaugural Summer Theatre School has taken over the theatre for a summer residency! An ensemble cast of young people across Sheffield have come together to spend two weeks immersed in musicality, as they rehearse for their production of ‘Grease’, which will be performed for the public at the end of the fortnight.

Sallianne Foster-Major, Artistic Director of the project, says “Our reason for setting this up was that we felt that Sheffield needed a summer project where young people can come and be part of a full-scale musical, with performances on a professional stage for the public. The cast are really excited about the prospect, and the theatre and creative team are enjoying working with such talented and enthusiastic group of young people.”

‘Grease’ runs from 2nd – 4th August. This funny, frank production features all the hit songs from the film, “Greased Lightnin’ ” “You’re The One That I Want,” and “Summer Nights”. Grease follows the journey of Danny and Sandy, alongside the Burger Palace Boys and the Pink Ladies, as they navigate high school to the unforgettable rock n’ roll soundtrack that defined generations. This is a high energy toe-tapping production that audiences will be bursting to sing along to! A show for all the family.
