Make a date with an Andrew Lloyd-Webber stage classic

ANDREW Lloyd-Webber hit Tell Me on a Sunday comes to South Yorkshire for just two special performances on November 8 and 9.

The one-act song cycle – originally a hit for Marti Webb – tells the story of a young English woman who journeys to the United States in search of love.

Taking the lead in Jonathan Walker-Kane’s new production from Endellion Theatre Company at Theatre Impromptu, Thurlstone, will be Marie Carter, most recently seen in Endellion’s acclaimed revival of Tom Stoppard’s Arcadia.

Marie studied professional acting at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and has a host of theatre credits, including Into the Woods, Spamalot, Chess, Girls’ Night Out and Salad Days.

As a soloist, Marie has performed in some of the countries’ most prestigious venues, including The Royal Albert Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Bridgewater Hall, The Sage and the Henley Festival.

Marie is also a well respected Musical Director and has worked with numerous leading theatre groups throughout Yorkshire on shows such as Jesus Christ Superstar, La Cage Aux Folles, Les Miserables, Sweet Charity, Me & My Girl, Oliver, Oklahoma, The Producers, Betty Blue Eyes and The Wiz.

Tell Me On a Sunday is directed by Jonathan Wlker-Kane, whose previous Endellion hits include Evita, Man of La Mancha, Taken at Midnight, The King and I, A Man For All Seasons, South Pacific, Shirley Valentine, A Little Night Music, Follies and The Boyfriend.

Tell Me On a Sunday is at Theatre Impromptu – the specially converted St Saviour’s Church, Thurlstone – on November 8 and 9.
