Man arrested as investigation launched in to Sheffield stabbing

A 18-year-old is currently in custody after a 21-year-old man was stabbed during an incident in Sheffield last night (Tuesday 14 August).

Emergency services were called to Langsett Close, just before 6.45pm, following reports that the man had been injured in an alleyway just off the street.

He was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries and currently remains there in a serious but stable condition.

While the investigation is in its early stages, detectives are treating the incident as targeted and there will be an increased presence in the area today as officers continue to carry out enquiries.

The 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempt murder and remains in custody at this time.
