THINGS are looking blooming marvellous at Hackenthorpe care home Cotleigh thanks to the efforts of the National Citizen Service.
Cotleigh – one of ten homes operated across the city by not for profit organisation Sheffcare – was given a garden makeover by the NCS team.
NCS is open to all 16 and 17-year-olds in England, bringing together young people from different backgrounds, helping them to develop greater confidence, self-awareness and responsibility.
“The work these young people did was absolutely fantastic and was an outstanding example of community spirit at its best,” said Sheffcare Volunteer Coordinator Kathryn Rawling.
“Their efforts truly enhanced Cotleigh’s garden and created something for all our residents to enjoy.”
