Detectives investigating the reported assault of a 27-year-old man in Chapeltown on New Year’s Eve have issued a fresh appeal for witnesses to come forward.
The area was busy, as many people were out celebrating New Year’s Eve, and officers are urging anyone yet to come forward to get in touch.
The 27-year-old man was seriously injured following a reported assault by persons unknown, close to the Waggon and Horses pub and Tap House and Gin Bar in Chapeltown, Sheffield, at around 8.25pm on Monday 31 December.
At this time, it is not known what was used to cause the man’s injuries and officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the incident.
He was taken to hospital to receive treatment for a significant puncture wound. He remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
