Reported affray at Sheffield derby – do you know this man?

Officers investigating a reported affray before the January Sheffield derby football match have released CCTV stills of a man they believe could help with enquiries.

Shortly before kick-off on Friday 12 January 2018, it is reported that a group of around 12 people were involved in disorder on John Street, close to the junction with Bramall Lane.

It is understood that those involved punched and kicked one another, though no injuries were reported to police and no complainants have come forward.

The group was dispersed by officers and two men were arrested at the scene on suspicion of  assault and affray. They have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Officers believe the man pictured could hold vital information and are urging anyone who recognises him, or witnessed the incident, to get in touch.
