IT’S back to the classroom as Sheffield arts and theatre complex The Montgomery gets ready for a revival of Disney hit High School Musical for its 2019 Summer Theatre Project!
The Summer Theatre Project will take over The Montgomery in Surrey Street from Monday, July 29 to Saturday, August 10, culminating in a full-scale production of Disney’s High School Musical on August 9 and 10.
The project’s organisers are looking for a dynamic company of 11 to 18-year-olds to take part in the creative adventure as they bring to life the stories of Troy, Gabriella, and the students of East High, dealing with issues of first love, friends, and family while balancing their classes, extra-curricular activities – and passion for music and drama!
And the cost of this year’s school has been slashed to £150 per participant for two weeks.
“Working with a team of experienced theatre practitioners, this is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a full-scale musical theatre production that will be performed on the professional stage to the public,” said the project’s Artistic Director Sallianne Major-Foster.
“ We are seeking dancers and musical theatre performers to join our dynamic cast, so if your talent is dancing, singing or acting, then we’d love to hear from you.
“ Mix and make friends with other young people who are passionate about theatre, realise your potential and have fun!
“Last year’s summer project was an enormous success so we anticipate a lot of interest for this year’s event.”
Closing date for applications is April 24. For more information and an application form email: firstname.lastname@example.org
