With heavy rainfall and thundery showers expected over coming days, the team at Streets Ahead are preparing for the potential of localised flooding.
A Streets Ahead spokesperson said:
“Sheffield’s Streets Ahead teams are busy preparing for expected thunderstorms and heavy downpours forecast for our area this evening and into tomorrow. Areas of the city known to experience localised flooding have already been checked, and gullies cleared of any leaf litter and debris to ensure affected roads are able to drain any excess water as quickly as possible. Our emergency teams are also on stand-by ready to respond quickly to any reports of flooding in the city if the heavy rain that is forecast arrives.
“We would advise people to take extra care when travelling on the city’s roads during extreme weather and report any issues to Streets Ahead directly on 0114 2734567.”
