Ten days left to nominate local heroes for the BBC Unsung Hero 2020 awards

There are just ten days left to nominate local heroes who have positively contributed to their community through sport this year for the BBC Unsung Hero 2020 awards.

As well as the main award, new for 2020 sees the Captain Tom: Young Unsung Hero award up for grabs for one young volunteer, who like the main award nominees has made a big difference in their local community through sport during Covid 19.

Both awards will see finalists from Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and each of the 12 English regions. Four nominees from the English Regions will join the national winners to form a top seven before the winner will be announced in December alongside the Young Unsung Hero.

To nominate your Unsung Hero and Young Unsung Hero by video, audio, online webform or via email, simply visit www.bbc.co.uk/unsunghero. Entries close on Sunday 25th October at midnight. Nominees for the Young unsung Hero award must be must be 15 years or under to be eligible.

There is also still plenty of time to download the single Every One of Us. Fronted by music star Rick Astley, the song celebrates the BBC Unsung Hero awards for 2020 and features the 2019 Unsung Hero award winners, as well as cameos from stars like Gabby Logan, Alex Scott, Gareth Thomas, Tanni Grey-Thompson and more.
