MOVE over Pulp, The Killers, Cold Play, Snow Patrol and Arctic Monkeys…Westbourne School’s music stars of the future are ready to step into your shoes!
Sheffield’s iconic Leadmill has had some of Britain’s most celebrated bands playing on its stage over the decades, including Sheffield’s home grown talent.
But there was a new generation of talent emerged as staff, pupils and parents from Westbourne, Sheffield’s co-educational independent school, packed the venue to hear Year 3 to 11 pupils displaying a new generation of musical knowhow.
Musicians from beginners to Grade 8 were given the opportunity to demonstrate their skill on the iconic Leadmill stage.
taking to the stage were Spitfire, Flaming Potato, Medley Mash Up, 7D and the Dynamos plus many more talented artists.
And there was also a welcome return from the Westbourne staff band Chalk Face, who opened the evening.
“Our acts showed the diversity of talent at Westbourne,” said Head of Junior School Music Michael Woodward.
“What a great experience for the children to be able to perform in a real band venue and at such an iconic location – I hope this will inspire the children and make them hungry for more.”
