SHEFFIELD’S Westbourne School is opening its doors to all Year Five pupils to give them a taste of senior school life.
The Year Five Senior School Taster Day will be held at the Broomhill independent co-educational school on Tuesday May 7 and is designed specifically to give children and families entering the final year of junior school a chance to explore their options for the move to senior level.
During the day children will take part in a range of activities at Westbourne’s Senior School site in Westbourne Road – everything from sports to drama, music and classroom based events as well as enjoying lunch in the senior school cafe.
Parents will also have the chance to take a look around and meet teaching staff for a Q&A session.
“We take great pride in our transition from junior to senior school being entirely seamless,” said Westbourne Junior School lead Jon Clark.
“This day offers both our own pupils and external children the opportunity to explore the exciting lessons, facilities and opportunities that await them in Year Seven at Westbourne.
“And because the day is aimed specifically at Year Five pupils, it gives families the chance to explore their options with plenty of time before making a final decision.”
Bursaries and scholarship packages are also available through the charitable arm of the school.
